Compatibility Review System (CRS)
The Compatibility Review Software (CRS) is a tool to faciliate the administrative work required as part of Architecture and VCDE Workspace reviews to ensure that object models in development projects meet the caBIG® Compatibility Guidelines. This administrative work includes gathering documents, navigating to web pages, identifying specific data elements within the documentation, integrating comments from the review team into a cohesive document, and preparing the final report to the workspace.
Compatibility reviews follow a checklist and help ensure compatibility between projects when they are placed on caGrid. Some criteria can be evaluated with tools such as the UML Loader or Semantic Integration Workbench. Other criteria must be reviewed manually. The CRS tool reduces the amount of time reviewers must spend on administrative work and allows them to focus on ensuring that models meet the established guidelines and contain the most accurate semantic annotations as possible. The CRS tool leverages existing tools such as the CDE Browser and SIW, using a custom display and user interface specifically designed to facilitate the review process.
