Product Description: 

The Semantic Integration Workbench (SIW) is a caCORE tool that assists users in adding consistent metadata to a UML model, or verifying consistency, by tagging their domain model with matching concepts from the NCI Thesaurus. This process helps bring the UML model semantically in-line with other registered caCORE-like systems, allowing for easier data-sharing between distributed systems.

The SIW was created to aid developers by providing user interfaces to perform this task and the opportunity to identify and fix any UML Loader or code generation incompatibility issues before executing these components of the caCORE SDK.

The UML Loader takes the annotated XMI file output from the Semantic Integration Workbench and loads the system's metadata into the caDSR. The UML Loader is not distributed; CBIIT loads annotated XMI files for users who have created systems via the caCORE SDK.

caAdapter is an open source tool set that provides model mapping services, and facilitates data mapping and transformation among different kinds of data sources including HL7 v2 messages, HL7 v3 messages, and Regulatory Data Sets. caAdapter has a component-based architecture composed of loosely coupled service modules. Each caAdapter service module can be packed and deployed on the web for online users. caAdapter also provides programming APIs for application integration with other systems such as caBIG® Integration Hub, and web service APIs for service integration over the network.

The caCORE Workbench is a tool with a graphical user interface (GUI) to facilitate the creation of a caBIG® silver or gold compliant system. The caCORE Workbench acts as a process guide and an integrated platform, enabling the user to more readily create a Data or Analytical service on the Grid. The following caBIG® process workflows are supported:

Product Description: 

The caDSR Administration Tool (login required) is the main administrative interface to all of the basic editing and maintenance features and components. The caDSR Administration Tool is intended for use by both Context and central caDSR administrators needing to make direct changes to metadata that in some cases breaks the caDSR Business Rules that are applied in the CDE Curation Tool. For example, in the CDE Curation Tool, an Object Class can only be created while creating a Data Element Concept, whereas in the Admin Tool, a standalone Object Class can be created or edited. This tool also provides access to EVS for linking caDSR metadata to terminology concepts.

Administrative and curatorial tasks available only via the Admin tool include creation of Conceptual Domains, Concepts, Classification Schemes, Protocol descriptions, lookup tables, user accounts, and security frameworks that are used across all caDSR tools and are not supported in the CDE Curation Tool.

Product Description: 

The caDSR Freestyle Search engine performs weighted semantic searches on the content of Administered Items in the caDSR. Freestyle Search is packaged as an API and also includes a sample UI accessible from a web browser.

The Administered Items searched by Freestyle Search are Data Element, Data Element Concept, Value Domain, Object Class, Property, Concept, Conceptual Domain and Value Meaning. The attributes searched on each are Version, Long Name, Preferred Name, Name, Preferred Definition, Question, Public ID, Latest Version Indicator, Created By, Modified By, Workflow Status, Registration Status, Context, Alternate Name, Definition Source and Origin.

caDSR Freestyle Search performs a "soft" or "fuzzy" search; the search terms and phrases are not required to exactly match metadata items. When matches are found, the results are assigned a numerical weight which includes the order of the match, the number of terms matched, the Administered Item type, Workflow Status and Registration Status. Results are returned sorted in descending order with the heaviest (highest value) weight first. The various search options dynamically alter the weights.

Product Description: 

The caDSR Sentinel Tool (login required) allows users who have a caDSR account to create and manage Alert Definitions for the content in the caDSR. Alert Definitions are a set of rules that are periodically evaluated against the caDSR. If the conditions in those rules are met, notification is sent to the user by email, with a hyperlink to a report that specifies the changes that have taken place, including a filter to monitor changes made to CDEs associated with CRFs.

Product Description: 

The Algorithm Validation Toolkit (AVT) provides tools to support medical image measurement validation research. The goal of AVT is to provide the caBIG® community with free and open technologies to support image measurement in research. AVT can be utilized in conjunction with caGrid in such a way that when image data associated with published (or non-published) research study is made available on the caGrid, another researcher can more readily replicate the experiment for validation and/or extension of that research.
